Why a Food Bank?

tomatoimage

Many families across the length and breadth of Jamaica are challenged with food insecurity, hunger, lack of nutrition and the inability to meet the daily needs of their families. Recognizing these needs and national challenge, as a church we are moved with compassion and love to share and source as much as we can to provide for the hungry.

We believe we have a solemn and sacred responsibility to give, care and share with our brothers and sisters who are in need.

How may one receive assistance?

The Food Bank sources and distributes food across Jamaica through the five regions: North East Jamaica Conference - covering the parishes of Portland and St Mary; East Jamaica Conference - covering the parishes of Kingston, St Andrews and St Thomas; Central Jamaica Conference - covering the parishes of St Catherine, Clarendon and Manchester; West Jamaica Conference covering the parishes of St Elizabeth, Westmoreland, Hanover, and St James; North Jamaica Conference - covering the parishes of Trelawny and St Ann.
